NEW DELHI: A fluent 95 by Amardeep Sonkar helped Haryana Colts to a five-wicket victory over Vidhya Jain Academy in the pre-quarterfinals of the 35th all-India Goswami Ganesh Dutt memorial cricket tournament at the St. Stephen’s College ground here on Thursday. Invited to bat, Vidhya Jain Academy rattled 254 thanks to a fine 130 by Agnesh Surya, who hammered 10 fours and four sixes. In reply, openers Amardeep Sonkar and Vishal Saini (30) put on 72 to provide a fine start for Haryana Colts, and the position was consolidated by a 112-run partnership for the third wicket between Sonkar and Abir Lavasa (68). In the quarterfinals, Haryana Colts will meet Collage Group on June 10.
