Young Hyderabad has it easy

HYDERABAD: Young Hyderabad defeated Youth Association 6-0 in the ‘B’ division hockey league championship at the AOC grounds here on Thursday.

The winner led 4-0 at the break thanks to a brace each by wingers Nikhil and Quadri.

In the second session, Muzaffar and Anish scored one goal apiece to complete the tally.

St. Patrick’s High School ‘A’ entered the boys’ under-11 final with a 63-run win over Sportive Cricket Club in the fifth Paradise Persis Gold Cup cricket tournament here on Thursday.

The scores: Semifinals: St. Patrick’s HS ‘A’ 156 (Chandrasekhar 56, Melbenito 53, Solomon three for 36, Anirudh three for 28) bt Sportive CC 93 (Surender 38); St. Joseph’s CC 120 for three (Abhirath 75 n.o.) lost to St. John’s CA 121 for no loss (Charan 65, Akhil 52).

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s annual Open table tennis tournament will be held from June 11 to 14 at the Victory Playground Indoor Hall here.
