CHITTOOR: Nearly 1.40 lakh quintals of groundnut would be distributed on subsidy in the sale counters set up at different places in the district, Law, Technical and Higher Education Minister R. Chenga Reddy has said. He exhorted the farmers to utilise this and raise their crops in time in the ensuing kharif season so that it would be beneficial to them. Addressing the rythu sadassu here on Monday, the Minister said that as part of several welfare measures, the government has established bulk milk cooling centres wherein milk was being procured from diary farmers at the rate of Rs.20 per litre for buffalo milk and Rs.12 a litre for cow’s milk. One ‘Adarsha rythu’ was selected from a group of 250 farmers in order to give suggestions on adoption of modern agricultural methods to improve productivity.
