VIZIANAGARAM: The AP State Road Transport Corporation, Vizianagaram Depot, will, for the convenience of school and college students in the 14 mandals under its jurisdiction, issue ‘free’ and ‘concessional’ bus passes at respective institutions from June 13. The corporation will collect Rs.10 as service charge from each student. The decision was taken to avoid untoward incidents and also to save time of students, said In-charge Depot Manager N.V.S. At a press conference on Tuesday, Mr. Venugopal said that in order to differentiate between the two types of passes that would be issued for 90 days they were designed in blue (free) and green (concessional) colours. Remitting Rs.18 for blue and Rs.13 for green cards they can collect the application forms from the depot counters from June 11. The applications bearing school/college admission number and photograph attested by the head of institution concerned must be submitted in advance. Four teams were constituted for the purpose.
