CHENNAI: Two visitors to the house of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy on Wednesday who refused to leave the premises were handed over to the police. Balakrishnan and Radhakrishnan had come from Thanjavur to meet the Congress leader. Even after being told that Mr.Krishnasswamy was out of town, the two men refused to leave. They told his wife that they had come, seeking assistance. When the visitors insisted on waiting, the Mylapore police were informed. Balakrishnan had lost his job after meeting with an accident in which his left limbs were injured. He needed advanced surgery for which he had to be admitted to a private hospital in Kattankulathur. Radhakrishnan, who was a bus driver in Pudukkottai, was suffering from renal problems and needed money for medical treatment. The police detained the two, awaiting a complaint from the TNCC president. As Mr. Krishnasswamy, who returned late on Wednesday night to Chennai, did not prefer a complaint, the two persons were let off with a warning. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
