Motorcyclist killed

CHENNAI: A 50-year-old man was fatally knocked down on Wednesday night near Basin Bridge after a van hit the two-wheeler he was riding.

The van driver was reversing the vehicle when he hit the victim, Balu, who suffered injuries on the head and chest. A resident of Broadway, Balu was found with injuries by his friend Satish Kumar and brought to Government Stanley Hospital, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’. Kilpauk traffic investigation police are searching for the van driver.

Unconscious

A 60-year-old man was found unconscious on Beach Road near Ennore on Wednesday night by a member of the Friends of Police. The man was admitted to Government Stanley Hospital. Until late Thursday evening, no one had lodged a ‘man missing’ complaint with the police.
