Karthik and Poojitha dazzle

BANGALORE: C.P. Karthik claimed a double, while N. Poojitha finished with three titles in the Canara Union State-ranking table tennis championship, which concluded at the Prakash Courts, here on Sunday.

Karthik won the men’s singles title as well as the youth boys’ title, while Poojitha, who had won the junior girls singles final on Saturday, added both the women’s singles and youth girls’ titles to her kitty.

The results (all finals): Men: C.P. Karhtik bt Aniban Tarafdar 11-9, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6. Youth boys: C.P. Karthik bt Navneeth 12-10, 11-7, 10-12, 11-4, 13-11. Junior boys: V. Akhil bt A.R. Navneeth 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 12-14, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5.

Women: N. Poojitha bt N. Nisarga 11-9, 11-9, 11-9, 11-9. Youth girls: N. Poojitha bt N. Nisarga 11-9, 11-8, 11-3, 11-2.
