Karnataka, Kerala triumph

BELLARY: Defending champions Karnataka and Kerala retained their titles in the men and women’s sections respectively in the 53rd senior National ball badminton championship, which concluded at the BDAA grounds here on Sunday.

In the finals, Karnataka defeated Andhra 29-14, 29-10, while in the women’s section, Kerala beat Karnataka 29-12, 29-23.

The results: Men: Final: Karnataka bt Andhra 29-14, 29-11. Third place: Tamil Nadu bt Hyderabad 29-14, 29-20. Semifinals: Karnataka bt Hyderabad 29-23, 29-23; Andhra bt Tamil Nadu 29-26, 29-19.

Women: Final: Kerala bt Karnataka 29-12, 29-23. Third place: Tamil Nadu bt Andhra 29-18, 29-16. Semifinals: Kerala bt Andhra 29-19, 29-12; Karnatraka bt Tamil Nadu 29-14, 29-8.
