Annadorai’s death condoled

CHENNAI: S. Annadorai’s passing away is a big loss to cricket, speakers said at a condolence meeting held at the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) here on Sunday.

Annadorai held various positions in the TNCA from Secretary to Assistant Secretary and from Treasurer to Vice-President.

N. Srinivasan, President, TNCA, spoke about Annadorai’s single-mindedness and devotion to whichever task he took up. Srinivasan further spoke about Annadorai’s special interest in developing and nurturing schools and colts cricket.

S. Sriraman, former Secretary, TNCA, and Annadorai struck a fruitful partnership, which proved to be beneficial to Tamil Nadu cricket for several years.

“It’s unlikely that we’ll ever see such a combination,” Srinivasan said.

U. Prabhakar Rao, Vice-President, TNCA, recalled Annadorai’s cogent and vociferous arguments and his never-say-die attitude.

“He always fought for the players’ rights. He never gave up,” said Rao. K. Mohan, Secretary, Venkateswara Cricket Club, and he gave several instances of Annadorai’s bold and fearless nature.

M.A. Sambasivan, son of Annadorai, also spoke. — Principal Correspondent
