Flyover delay: court seeks response

Hyderabad: A Division Bench of the A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Monday asked authorities to respond to the writ petition complaining about the undue delay in completing the flyover near railway crossing at Seethaphalmandi, Secunderabad.

The petition was filed by Wasim Ahmed Khan. He said that the works had begun in 1999 and the flyover was not yet to be completed. He blamed the GHMC for the delay. He complained that schoolchildren and the regular office-goers were being put to hardship for nearly a decade.

The petitioner further said that the traffic position was chaotic and accidents had become common.

The court was informed that ambulances were not in access.

The Bench wanted the railway authorities and the GHMC to inform the court about this. The case was adjourned to next week.
