HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) reached out to former senior TDP leader T. Devender Goud in a bid to invite him into the party immediately after his resignation from the TDP on Monday. TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao spoke to Mr. Goud on the phone and welcomed the latter into the party. He congratulated Mr. Goud for taking a courageous step. The TRS chief preferred to call the ex-TDP leader on phone though he was advised by his party colleagues to visit Mr. Goud’s residence in Banjara Hills here, sources said. However, a team of TRS activists from Medchal Assembly constituency, represented by Mr. Goud, went to the TDP leader’s house to request him to join the party. Led by M. Kamalakar Reddy, TRS in-charge in Medchal, they tried to convince Mr. Goud that the entire party cadre in the constituency would fully back him. Mr. Goud merely nodded his head in response, sources said. KCR reserves reactionMeanwhile, the TRS chief reserved his formal reaction to Mr. Goud’s resignation until Wednesday. He refused to talk to the media on the issue at a meeting organised by the TRS for its in-charges in mandals and municipalities.
