NEW DELHI: Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Tuesday said a GDP growth of nine per cent can be achieved despite the global surge in oil prices while noting that monetary policy would play a role in controlling the price spiral. Talking to journalists here, he admitted that rising inflation was a “serious” problem and “there is no doubt [that] monetary policy has a role to play in any control of inflation.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
