Vegetable vendors run over by bus

NEW DELHI: Two vegetable vendors were run over by a truck in Vikaspuri here in the early hours of Tuesday. The truck driver has been arrested.

The vendors, Suresh Gupta and Asharfi Gupta, were on their way to purchase vegetables from Sabzi Mandi around 4-30 p.m. when the truck hit the rickshaw they were travelling in.

While Suresh died on the spot, Asharfi was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and arrested the truck driver, Manoj (24).
