NEW DELHI: In what appears to be the fall-out of a gang war, two persons were shot at and injured by some unidentified assailants at Shahdara here on Monday. The incident took place around 9 p.m. when the assailants, who came on motorcycles, opened fire at Hasim, his relative Intezar Ali and neighbour Abid Ali. Hasim and Intezar sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where they have been kept under observation. Investigations revealed that Hasim is the brother of I.R. Khan, who according to the police is suspected to be involved in the murder of Salim Pehalwan in Bhajanpura on April 30. The Special Cell has arrested four persons in the Salim Pehalwan murder case so far, but I.R. Khan and some other suspects are still absconding. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
