Everest conquerer Kalpana Das ill

MUMBAI: Kalpana Das, 38, who scaled Mount Everest last month, has fallen ill , doctors attending on her have said.

“We are planning to refer her to the AIIMS, New Delhi,” doctors from Orissa told PTI on Tuesday.

Ms. Kalpana had cancelled her tour of Tanzania on June 17 due to ill health. After failing twice in her ambition to climb the Everest, the lawyer from Orissa, made it to the top of the world on May 21 last . She was among the 27 persons who scaled the mountain as members of high altitude workers of HAD International Expedition-2008.
