Death toll in West Bengal floods mounts to 46

Kolkata: The death toll in the recent floods that ravaged West Bengal’s Purbo and Paschim Medinipur districts has gone up to 46. More than 3.4 million people have been affected.

Vast areas in the two districts remain submerged and complaints of irregularities in distribution of relief materials are reaching the authorities.

Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi on Thursday inquired about the situation and measures taken to reach relief to the flood victims with two Ministers.
