World Malayalee Council meet

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A business and investment forum, conferences on education, tourism and traditional medicine, and exhibitions on collaborative and investment opportunities are the highlights of the sixth World Malayalee Council conference that begins in Singapore on August 24.

Mutual opportunities

The three-day meet, organised by the World Malayalee Council of Singapore, has been conceived as a forum to create awareness of mutual business opportunities said Stephen Anathas, general secretary of the council, and Sudheen Vasnath, treasurer.

Singapore is one of the oldest destinations for Malayali migrants and there are over 25,000 Malayalis in the city-state. The global meet, to be held at the Orchid Country Club, would be attended by many eminent persons from Singapore and India.

Mr. Anathas said Chinese business persons from Singapore were looking for business opportunities in Kerala.

State Senior Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Balaji Sadasivan was in Kerala for three days from June 21 looking for business opportunities in the State.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Singapore, George Yoe would deliver the keynote address on the first day of the meet.
