Honour for Badrinath

CHENNAI: S. Badrinath won the Bishnuram Medhi Trophy, awarded to the Cricketer of the Year, during the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s 78th annual day at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.

TNCA president N. Srinivasan, in his welcome address, drew attention to the association’s work in “taking cricket to rural Tamil Nadu”.

Chief guest K. Gnanadesikan, Secretary to Government, Finance Department, hailed the TNCA as a “leading cricket association in the country, with a great past”. — Special Correspondent
