Michael Phelps gets a breather

OMAHA (U.S.): Michael Phelps’s gruelling schedule at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials has gotten a bit easier. He won’t be competing in the 400m freestyle. The event was one of nine Phelps had entered during the meet. Coach Bob Bowman had earlier hinted that Phelps would drop out of the freestyle event. — AP
