Bride-to-be killed in accident

BANGALORE: A 26-year-old employee of a business process outsourcing firm whose marriage was weeks away died in a road accident on Sunday. She was riding pillion with her fiancé when their vehicle was hit by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on Kanakapura Road. The accident prompted an irate public to block the road demanding action against the bus driver.
According to the police, the victim, C. Bhavya, a resident of J.P. Nagar 1st Phase, had gone with her fiancé, Venugopal (30), to collect the pictures of the engagement ceremony which took place a week ago. The couple was returning home after collecting the photo album.
The police said that the accident occurred near the Old Family Mart, when the bus hit the motorcycle. Bhavya fell off the motorcycle and was run over by the bus. Bhavya died on the spot while Venugopal suffered injuries on his hand and leg. He is in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences.
