Two killed in accident

Thiruvananathapuram: Two people were killed when the motorbike on which they were travelling collided with a government-owned public transport bus at Mannanthala on Sunday evening.

The police identified the youth as Kannan, 21, of Santhi Mandir, Vattappara and Shyam Lal, 23, Aruviyakode Colony, Marathoor.

An official said the youth were close friends and ardent cricketers.

The accident occurred when the youngsters were on their way to participate in a local match.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.

Four injured

Four persons were injured when the car in which they were travelling lost control and skided down hill near Ponmudi Hill Resort.

The police said the accident occurred at the hair pin bend.

The injured persons were admitted to the Medical College Hospital.
