Lifer for uxoricide

SRIVILLIPUTTUR: The Virudhunagar Principal District and Sessions court on Monday gave life sentence to N. Lingam (38) for murdering his wife. According to the prosecution, the accused used to quarrel frequently with his wife, Thangammal. In the small hours of November 22, 2007, he set her afire following a heated argument. Subsequently, she succumbed to burns. When the case came up for hearing, the judge, V. Balasundarakumar, sentenced him to undergo life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000.
