Arrack shop gutted

KARAIKAL: An arrack shop and a toddy shop were reduced to ashes in a fire at Polagam near T.R. Pattinam in Karaikal district in the Union Territory of Puducherry on Sunday. A spark from an oven is said to be the reason. No one was injured.

The total loss is estimated at Rs.11 lakh.
