100% blade free lasik

Maxivision medical director Dr. Kasu Prasad Reddy is the 1st person to do lasik in England in the year 1994 to get rid of glasses and contact lenses permanently. Since 1991 his experience with the 1st excimer laser centre in Europe was with the corneal laser centre in Liverpool, UK.

Corneal thickness is the acid test to the success of lasik or PRK. The central thickness of the cornea should be above 500 microns, for this operation to be performed. When an operation is done on thinner corneas inadvertently by any Doctor, the immediate results will be good, but as time progresses the central cornea will weaken creating distortions that can’t be corrected ever with glasses. The plight of the patient will be such a misery that more expensive treatments have to be applied to save the cornea from further distortion. Therefore, the onus is on the doctors to truthfully advise the patient and filter out thinner corneas. Our statistics at Maxivision is that 33% of the people have thin corneas. And we advise them not to get lasik done and for them as an alternative we do Phakic IOL, which is like a contact lens that is placed permanently inside the eye. The results of this operation are excellent.

In January 2008 we introduced the latest and most advanced technology in lasik, ie., the intralase lasik. In this method you can have a lasik procedure that is 100% blade free.

Millions of dollars are spent to reduce surgical complications related to the blade and also to reduce post operation complications and side effects. This is when the intralase Femtosecond laser was born. This laser has the ability to place thousands of miniature air bubbles in the central layers of the cornea, thus precisely splitting the cornea and raising a flap. Therefore, no blade is involved, no cutting happens and no complications ever. Thus the most preferred treatment by almost all the patients today is 100% Blade free lasik.

A new technique in medicine always comes to out beat the old one and keeping up with the changes is very expensive and we at Maxivision Eye Hospital are constantly striving to give you the safest and the best that is the latest. We are constantly finding solutions to serve you better for better vision says Mr. Murali Krishna Vejella, CEO and you can call him on 9393444777 for further details.
