Youth murdered

CHENNAI: A youth was allegedly murdered by a two-member gang at New Washermenpet here early on Monday.

Police said M. Thiagarajan (22), who worked for a cable TV operator in VOC Nagar, was in a hairdresser’s shop when the suspects walked in with deadly weapons. Even as the victim tried to escape, they chased and stabbed him. He died on the way to the Stanley Medical College Hospital.

Joint Commissioner of Police (North), M. Ravi, said the accused — Dileep (25) and Mohanraj alias Mohan (30) — were arrested.
