State-level football tournament

CHENNAI: As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, the Young Challengers Football Club, affiliated to the Thiruvallur DFA, will organise a State-level football tournament for the Kalaigner Karunanidhi rolling Trophy at the YCFC ground in Pattabiram from July 2 to 13.

In all, 20 teams will take part including leading league teams from the Chennai Football Association, Tiruchi, Cuddalore and Thiruvellur.

The winner will receive Rs. 20,000 and the runner up Rs. 15,000. An Organising Committee, headed by A. Krishnaswamy, MP, has been formed for the successful conduct of the tournament.
