Action against engineers

Bangalore: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Monday repatriated two engineers, who were caught on camera while allegedly accepting bribe, to the Public Works Department.

Assistant Executive Engineer C.V. Venkatesh and Assistant Engineer K.C. Ashwath Reddy were working at BBMP’s Sanjaynagar ward on deputation from PWD. The BBMP had no authority to suspend the engineers as they were employed by the PWD and hence the decision was taken to immediately relieve them from BBMP duty and repatriate them to the parent department with immediate affect, said an officer. — Staff Reporter
