PKN HSS in quarterfinals

Madurai: PKN Higher Secondary School (Thirumangalam) defeated host VMJ HSS 25-14, 25-19 to enter the quarterfinals in senior section of the 29th annual State-level inter-School volleyball tournament for the Virudhunagar PSM Mariappa Nadar Trophy on Monday.

Other results: Super seniors: First round: VMJ HSS bt Sivakasi Nadar MHSS 24-26, 25-22, 25-8; PKN HSS (Thirumangalam) bt St. Britto HSS 25-23, 25-21.

Seniors: PKN HSS bt Idayam Rajendran Residential School 25-10, 25-13; ASMA MHSS Veera Cholan bt Virudhunagar Hindu Nadar HSS 26-24, 15-25, 25-21.

Cricket trials

The Madurai District Cricket Association will conduct trails for the selection of the Madurai district teams at the MGR Race Course Stadium at 2.30 p.m. on the dates mentioned below.
