MUMBAI: The rupee staged a smart recovery against the dollar and ended at 43.17 on Wednesday against its previous close of 43.34. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee resumed weak at 43.37.38 a dollar but later improved marginally to 43.31/32 in early trade amid continued capital outflows and high crude oil prices. It staged a smart recovery and closed the day at 43.17, a gain of 17 paise.
