BANGALORE: Infosys lifted the Ventures Checkmate chess title for Corporates with 14 points from the 15-team field at the Olde Bangalore Resort and Convention Centre here. Cognizant, with 13.5 points, finished second while Honeywell (11.5, progressive score 34.5) and Standard Chartered (11.5, 26.5) were third and fourth. Wipro (11) was adjudged the most promising team. In the seven-round rapid chess open individual event, Eashwaran of Standard Chartered clinched the title with six points (26), while Infosys’ Anil (6, 24) was the runner-up. The results: Team championship (Swiss league): 1. Infosys (14 points), 2. Cognizant (13.5), 3. Honeywell (11.5, 34.5), 4. Standard Chartered (11.5, 26.5). Open individual: 1.
