Peaceful, but vigilant

ON GUARD: The surroundings of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, usually a beehive of activity with processions and vehicles choking the roads, were on Thursday so peaceful as to afford this canine the opportunity for a nice mid-day siesta. The Viswa Hindu Parishad-sponsored hartal on the day was by and large peaceful in the State.
