Kumbabhishekam at Karuveli

d. The temple is located in Karuvili, referred to as Karuveli, situated on the bank of River Arisal. Appar has sung in praise of the place that has Konerirajapuram (north-west), Thiruveezhimizhalai (east) Srivanchiyam (south) and Thirunaraiyur and Sidhisvaram (west) surrounding it. The ancient temple, which was in a dilapidated state was Taken up for renovation in 1995 by a group of local residents and trustees, V. Krishnamurhti and his brother Vaidyanathan. Consecration took palce in 1997. The preliminary rituals begin on July 9 and Mandalabishekam beigns on July 15.
