Manmohan to meet Bush

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet U.S. President George Bush on July 9 on the sidelines of the G-8 summit in Hokkaido, Japan, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon told newspersons here on Friday.

He was briefing the media about the Prime Minister’s visit to the G-8 summit from July 7 to 9. Asked to comment on U.S. Congressman Gary Ackerman’s observation that time was running out for the nuclear deal, Mr. Menon said he had always avoided mentioning timeframes.

“We want to go ahead. We will do our best to go ahead as soon as we can,” the Foreign Secretary added.
