PANAJI: An earthquake measuring 1.09 on the Richter scale struck Valkinni Sanguem in south Goa on Thursday afternoon. The Goa Meteorology Department confirmed the quake. Sanguem is a mining area where Salaulim Dam is located. The Ravalnath temple, some houses and a school building had developed cracks, said official sources here on Friday. — Special Correspondent
