CPI(M) flays power cuts

MADURAI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded the State government to ensure that there was uninterrupted power supply in Madurai and its peripheries.

Presiding over a meeting here, Madurai MP P.Mohan urged the government to provide power supply to all regions without disruption.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting. Senior party functionaries N. Nanmaran and R. Jothiram said that power cut had become the order of the day and steps should be taken on a war footing to bring relief to the people.

In a statement, Madurai urban district committee secretary R. Annamalai said that unannounced power cuts had put the common man to untold hardships.
