Kartik hoists party flag

Special Correspondent

MADURAI: The All India Naadalum Makkal Katchi (AINMK) would strike an alliance with like-minded parties at the appropriate time when elections were announced, said its president M. Kartik here on Friday. He was addressing cadres after hoisting party flag at Kamarajapuram, Keeraithurai and Vazhathope.

The actor-turned-politician, who has been camping in the city for the last few days, held talks with office-bearers on various issues. Condemning the government for the inflation, Mr. Kartik said that prices of many essential commodities had steeply increased. As a result, the common man was put to hardship. Reports of frequent trouble in Sri Lanka and hardships faced by fishermen from Tamil Nadu was a matter of serious concern.

Earlier, talking to reporters, he said that he would proceed to New Delhi soon to register the party with Election Commission of India.
