CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday called for rejection of works that went against rationality. Conveying his views through a poem, he asked: “Parties, based on religious denominations, have a right to exist. But, do they have the right to keep people in darkness?” Those who had razed the Babri Masjid [in December 1992] on the basis that Rama was born in Ayodhya were now blocking the progress of Tamil Nadu by twisting history and hampering the execution of the Sethusamudram project. — Special Correspondent © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
