NABARD sanctions loan to the State

CHENNAI: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs. 472.15 crore in loan to Tamil Nadu under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund XIV.

According to a bank release, the project sanctioning committee for RIDF, at a meeting held in New Delhi on July 3 , indicated that the loan would be given for building additional classrooms, libraries, computer rooms, laboratories and toilet blocks in government high schools and higher secondary schools.

The project, to be implemented by the Education Department, will benefit 8 lakh students every year.
