Funds released for celebrating Kamaraj birth anniversary

CHENNAI: To enable all schools in the State to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Kamaraj on July 15, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Sunday issued orders to release Rs. 1.7 crore from the government funds and Rs. 24 lakh from the Parents Teachers Association funds.

A government press release said for the last two years July 15 is being celebrated as ‘Education Development Day’ throughout the State by students wearing new uniforms and by decorating the portrait of Kamaraj in their schools.
