Prakhyath wins

MANGALORE: Prakhyath Naik won the boys’ under-19 singles crown in the Dakshina Kannada district-level badminton tournament conducted by D. K. District Badminton Association here on Sunday. He defeated Alfaz in straight sets. Shashank Shetty, Neha K., Soujanya Pathak, and Yashodhar won the boys under-13, girl’s under-13, women’s singles and veterans’ singles titles respectively.

The results (finals only): Boys: Prakhyath Naik bt Alfaz 21-15, 21-13;

U-13 boys: Shashank Shetty bt Vinayak Mallya 21-19, 17-21, 21-10.

Girls: Neha K. bt Priyanka 21-13, 21-17;

Veterans’ singles: Yashodhar bt Dharma Shetty 21-12, 21-11;

Women’s Singles: Soujanya Pathak bt Ila Bhide 21-15, 21-18.
