KOLKATA: The condition of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, who has been admitted to a private hospital here, is stable. “He is maintaining steady progress and is in stable health,” doctors said on Monday. Mr. Dasmunsi was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pain while addressing a meeting of party workers in Malda on Sunday. He was suffering from acute coronary syndrome, doctors said. Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi, who visited the Minister, said “he is recovering very well and is in good cheer.” Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Biman Bose also visited Mr. Dasmunsi. A medical team has been set up to oversee his treatment. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
