NEW DELHI: In a major reshuffle of the organisational structure, Congress president Sonia Gandhi appointed new party presidents in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. She also put herself as the head of the party’s Campaign Committee for Parliamentary elections with senior party leader Pranab Mukherjee as the Vice-Chairman. Mr. Mukherjee has also been appointed the Chairman of the Manifesto Committee for the coming Lok Sabha election. Tamil Nadu PCCThe former Union Minister, K.V. Thankgabalu, will replace M. Krishnasamy as president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee. Siddharth Patel, MLA and son of the former Gujarat Chief Minister, Chimanbhai Patel, has been appointed the State PCC president, while Tusharbhai Choudhary, MP, and Kunwarjibhai Mohanbhai Bavalia, MLA, will be the new working presidents. Thakur Kaul Singh, MLA, will be the new president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress, according to the AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi. Manifesto committeeThe AICC Manifesto Committee has among others Rahul Gandhi, Arjun Singh, M. Veerappa Moily, Digvijay Singh, P. Chidambaram, S. M. Krishna, Jairam Ramesh, Meira Kumar, Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia as members. The Campaign Committee includes among others Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, A.K.
