PFI strives to save college land

VISAKHAPATNAM: A Round Table organised by People for India (PFI) on Thursday chalked out an action plan to oppose the proposal to alienate 556 square yards of land belonging to Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College.

PFI Vice-Chairman B.L. Narayana proposed the plan of action as a part of which steps would be taken to file PIL in the High Court. Besides, meeting people’s representatives in the city demanding their intervention and send memoranda to the Chief Minister and Principal Secretaries of Higher Education and Municipal Administration Departments.

A meeting will be held on the land proposed to be alienated and a procession taken from there to the District Collector’s Office on July 25.

MLC M.V.S. Sarma deplored the injustice being meted out to a government institution. PFI Chairperson and former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University K.V. Ramana PFI convener B.B. Ganesh, Director General of Prema Hospitals S.V. Adinarayana Rao, M. Nagendra of BJP, K. Lokanadham of CPI (M), Ch. Raghavendra Rao (CPI), S.R.K. Rao (Lok Satta), social worker Varahalu Chetty, B.R.K. Raju and P. Soma Raju spoke.
