Canara Bank gets clearance for branch in China

BANGALORE: Canara Bank has obtained clearance from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to open a branch in Shanghai. The bank’s Representative Office, which was opened in August 2005, will be upgraded to a branch, according to a bank release. The branch will be the third overseas branch of the bank, after London and Hong Kong, in addition to a joint venture in Moscow. — Special Correspondent
