Ganguly threatens to move out

KOLKATA: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly denied making any statement against former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya or his group in the event of returning to power int the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Ganguly said he was referring to certain people in the CAB targeting his elder brother, Snehasish, during the run-up to elections on July 29. He added that if this continued he might consider playing for some other State in domestic cricket in the coming season.

“I still want to play for Bengal. But, certain people in the CAB are intolerant of my brother’s success as the assistant secretary in the CAB administration. It must stop, otherwise I might be forced to take the extreme step of moving out of Bengal,” he said a press conference at his home.

Ganguly met the press on the occasion of winning the ‘Castrol cricketer of the year’ award. He said such awards proved to be a great motivating factor. — Special Correspondent
