As the Independence Day approaches, discussions about Chiranjeevi’s party among political circles are on rise. The resignations of political heavy-weights from Telugu Desam Party added new points to delve upon. Somehow, many think that these netas have come out from TDP only after getting Chiru’s assurance for berths in the future train. This obviously raises doubts about the nature of the party in pipeline. The key question coming up in the chitchats is - if the party depends on defections from other political parties and doesn’t groom its own new leaders, how different it will be from the existing parties? How can Chiru build a party that is compatible to political parties of Denmark and Finland, as his political advisor Dr. Mithra claims? Well, if Chiru fills his party ranks with oldies it will be like partying with old wine in a new bottle! K.VIJAYA BHASKARA REDDY © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
