Junior assistant in ACB net

The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday nabbed a junior assistant of the Board of Intermediate Education, A Gopi, when he accepted a bribe of Rs.500 from a complainant for doing an official favour. The tainted amount was also recovered from his possession.

SI succumbs to injuries

An Armed Reserve Sub-Inspector, Suraj Kumar, who suffered injuries after the motorcycle on which he was travelling skidded off the road at Hafeezpet on Friday last, succumbed to injuries in a private hospital on Thursday. His relative Deepak, however, escaped with injuries.

Shops raided, 3 held

Acting on a tip-off from Indian Music Industry (IMI) personnel, the city police conducted raids on three mobile and computer shops at Jeedimetla on Wednesday and seized computer accessories and memory cards worth Rs.1.5 lakh.

The police also arrested three persons on charges of preparing pirated mobile chips. The shops in which raids were conducted include Kushi Mobiles, Arrow Mobiles and Hi-5 mobiles.
