K. Subramanian

NAGAPATTINAM: The Danish Governor’s bungalow at Tarangampadi will soon be renovated at a cost of Rs.87.12 lakh.

The National Museum, Denmark, has come forward to fund the renovation of the clapped-out building, according to Collector M. Jayaraman.

The work will be executed through the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage , a New Delhi-based organisation set up in 1984 to protect and conserve India’s natural and cultural heritage.

Tourist attraction

The Collector said the work would get under way shortly, and it would be made a tourist attraction similar to the Dansborg, a Danish fort, and the Masilamaninathar temple on the shores of Tarangampadi and the New Jerusalem Church and Zion Church.
