New ministers given portfolios

BANGALORE: Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa on Friday night allocated the portfolios to the three new ministers who were sworn in on Thursday.

Balachandra Jarkhiholi has been given the portfolio of Municipalities and Urban Local Bodies and Department of Public Enterprises. Earlier this portfolio of Municipalities and ULBs had been given to S. Suresh Kumar.

Mr. Kumar continues to hold city corporation, excluding the subject pertaining to Bangalore city and the BWSSB. The portfolio of Public Enterprises was earlier held by the Chief Minister himself. K. Shivanagouda Naik has been allocated the portfolio of Mass Education and Public Libraries besides Small Savings and Lotteries.

Anand Asnotikar has been given the portfolio of Fisheries and Science and Technology. Earlier, the portfolio of Fisheries was with Krishna Palemar.

Mr. Palemar has been given one more portfolio of Ecology and Environment Department which was earlier with the Chief Minister.
