Goud has failed to evoke public response, says Errabelli

NALGONDA: Telugu Desam Polit Bureau member Errabelli Dayakar Rao has observed that his former colleague Devender Goud has failed to evoke public response after quitting the party.

Speaking to reporters at the party office here on Friday, Mr. Rao said, “Goud and others thought that they would get tremendous public response but later they got to realise that there is no response at all”.

He further observed that those who had been rallying behind the Telangana Rashtra Samiti and film star Vijayashanthi were now seen moving with Mr. Goud. “Have you seen any new intellectual working with Mr. Goud?” he questioned, adding that his exit didn’t make a big difference to the TDP.

Mr. Rao denied the charge that he had betrayed Mr. Goud. “I never told him that I would come out of the party to work with him. I always tried my best to prevent him from quitting the party,” he said. He made it clear that he would abide by the party decision on the issue of Telangana. The Polit Bureau meeting to be held in Khammam is not going to discuss the Telangana issue, he clarified. To a question on the group feud in the district TD over the selection of chairman for Mother Dairy, Mr. Rao said that he couldn’t solve the issue despite his best efforts. “Since both the factions are not ready to give room for compromise, I couldn’t do much. I am planning to make another trial to sort out the issue,” he maintained. He warned of intensifying agitation if the government failed to provide “at least 7 hours of power” to farmers.
